Parkway Goals 2008-2011
The Parkway Board of Education has adopted the following three goals for implementation through 2011. In additon to monitoring the ongoing implementation of these goals, Project Parkway participants will also help develop district goals for 2011 through 2015 .
Parkway Goal 1: Increase academic achievement and engagement for all students
- Focus Area A: Develop and consistently implement an aligned Pre-K-12 guaranteed, viable, district curriculum that is designed to increase student engagement and achievement.
- Focus Area B: Implement evidence based instructional strategies including technology best practices that promote high levels of student engagement and achievement.
- Focus Area C: Collect, analyze, and use data from national, state and Parkway assessments to monitor curriculum, inform instruction, and implement academic interventions to increase student achievement.
Parkway Goal 2: Increase student success through providing a safe environment, promoting healthy behaviors, and fostering positive relationships.
- Focus Area A: Develop and implement an integrated Pre-K-12 system and services that identify and respond to students' academic success through social/emotional/behavioral support.
- Focus Area B: Foster membership through a caring, safe school environment for all students, staff, parents and community.
- Focus Area C: Increase student success by focusing on diversity in order to foster student, staff and community membership.
Parkway Goal 3: Provide learning environments necessary for success in a competitive, global society.
- Focus Area A: Ensure safe, secure, and accessible facilities through ongoing maintenance and renovation.
- Focus Area B: Provide current and secure technology to support operational efficiency, teaching, and learning.
- Focus Area C: Identify and develop school environments necessary for 21st century teaching and learning.
- Focus Area D: Improve communication and decision-making through effective and efficient data collection, anaylsis and reporting.
