Parkway NEA

Parkway NEA offers four scholarships: one for a student at each of the high schools; one scholarship for a child of a Parkway NEA member (the Jean Olson Memorial Scholarship); and two different scholarships for Parkway NEA members (the Vito Maniaci Scholarship and the Linda Favero Memorial Scholarship).

Each scholarship is $500, plus the Vito Maniaci offers two additional scholarships for $250 each.  These applications are due by March 26, 2010.

The Cochran Scholarship

Applications for this $500 scholarship must be postmarked by April 20, 2010.  Peggy Cochran, former Executive Director of MNEA, and her husband Paul, have a total of 74 years of service in education.  Both come from families of teachers. Two of their children are teachers in the St. Louis area.  Peggy and Paul believe that teaching is the most rewarding career anyone can choose.  To encourage people to become teachers, they created this scholarship. Applicants must be a MNEA Student Member currently enrolled in a Missouri Teacher Education Program and pursing a career in teaching.
